Rap: The Notorious B.I.G. Duets: The Final Chapter

It has been nine years since the death of Notorious B.I.G. but his latest album release shows that he's still kicking. Usually posthumous albums expose some kind of new material unheard or unreleased. This album seems to defy that logic. It's all of Biggies old songs just with a new and updated twist. That twist involves a slew of his fellow peers. Most of them grew up listening to his original songs and were happy to participate in this remix of them. If you liked the old songs of B.I.G. then you will definitely enjoy the new twist on an old theme. The contributions the guest rappers make to the songs don't take anything away from the legitimacy of Notorious' talent. The most haunting track is Hold Your Head featuring a sample of a Bob Marley lyric. This track alone makes the entire album worth it. It's the last musical track on the album and a fitting last song on a last Notorious B.I.G. album.

Reggae: Matisyahu - Youth

The first Hasidic Jewish reggae rapper has officially released his second album. Matisyahu born Matthew Miller converted to Judaism in his early twenties and has never looked back. His has a wholly original sound. Its like Bob Marley, Sublime and a Rabbi got together and spawned Matisyahu. He has a positive message that people of any faith can embrace. Matisyahu and his reggae band displays talent and originality in its purest form. If you enjoy reggae or just want to try something different, Youth is the album for you.
