Women's Soccer Goalkeeper Tana Lantry heads to China to teach

Tana Lantry, a senior from Bexley, Ohio will be going on an adventure of a lifetime this spring and will bring back with her not only another language, but experiences and knowledge far beyond the scope of the average NAIA student-athlete. By the time the third season starts for the Women's Soccer team at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ, Tana will have returned from Beijing, China where she spent the last five months teaching, living, learning and experiencing a new and exciting culture.

Tana is a Global Security and Intelligence Studies major and was recently honored by the NAIA with Academic All-American accolades for her outstanding 3.8 overall GPA in a very challenging field. She will take this knowledge as well as her minor in Mandarin Chinese with here while she participates in a co-op with the Beihang University. She is the first woman to be elected to fill this position and it is her strong background in leadership through athletics that has enabled her to take this journey to a foreign land. She will be teaching Aviation English at the Flight College in Beijing, which is an all-male college. Tana has experience in flight, coming into her freshman year at ERAU with her private pilot's license. Her title while there will be "foreign expert" and it is clear that Tana has all the tools to be successful even in a male dominated school, society and culture.

The entire community at Embry Riddle is very proud and supportive of Tana and her adventure and wish her the best of luck on her journey. The Women's Soccer team will be awaiting her arrival in the fall so she can get back on the field and in the net for the team who will be striving for more improvements as they head into their third season of NAIA intercollegiate competition.
