The show started with a little dance party and a back massage. After being loosened up for a good ten minutes, MacDonald had a hilarious stand-up comedy lined up before the actual show began. He mentioned that Embry-Riddle has many "firsts" for him and that he looks forward to performing here every year.
He first asked the females in the audience to volunteer before even considering the males. Surprisingly fourteen females and twenty-six males volunteered making a total of forty students on stage. Some of the things MacDonald did to our students was manipulate their sense of smell and they smelt things such as gym socks and the person sitting next to them - who of course smelled amazing to them. This made for quite an interesting scene on stage.
One of the funniest acts that stood out that evening was when MacDonald did not have a back side to the ones that were on stage. He would start talking about something random and have his back side to the hypnotized. The reaction the females gave on stage was priceless. After MacDonald changed his non-backside to Brad Pitt's bottom, all the females went crazy over it. As another Embry-Riddle first, he mentioned that he has never had his bottom caressed before.
Near the end of the show, the infamous Wonder Bird came back. Wonder Bird is a very "special" bird to the hypnotized because he would either bring pain or pleasure. In the very beginning when Wonder Bird came out, every time he squeaked the students on stage would get an electric shock to their bottoms. The second time, every time Wonder Bird squeaked the students would get pleasure shot up through their body. One of students on stage had the courage to actually try to steal the bird from MacDonald's hands.
At the end of the show, MacDonald made the males do a Chippendale style show for all the females on stage or in the crowd. He gave the three that were still hypnotized a twenty dollar bill and told them to stash it somewhere "private," and lose all recollection of it being there. Once the show was over, student Diana Dillard told J.D. Dyess, one of the hypnotized, "Hey, J.D., reach into your pants." He was ecstatic to not only find a dollar in his pants but a twenty dollar bill. He responded by saying, "It's the most awkward thing (to reach into his pants) a group of people said to me at once!"
Another student that was hypnotized was Miguel Chafen. He pointed out that when he was hypnotized, "I just felt like doing it without knowing." He did mention that he saw the audience once in a while but he just kept doing what he was told regardless.
If anything, Bruce MacDonald is the one show here at Embry-Riddle to not miss because it is guaranteed a good time. As an ending note from Chafen, "Nothing is G-rated; finding twenty-dollars in my pants was kind of cool."
