In its first appearance here at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the act simply known as Sex Signals entertained and educated a nearly full crowd in the DLC auditorium. Billed as a comedic look at issues concerning dating singles everywhere, those that attended were slightly apprehensive as they were not really sure what to expect. After a late start while the auditorium filled up, any initial apprehension about the show disappeared as the two presenters immediately got rolling with a set of jokes that got the whole audience laughing. Raw and unapologetic, the actors pulled no punches and did not refrain from using terms that are usually considered taboo.

The initial set targeted a classic bar set up with a single young female and a guy with his buddies as they relaxed for the night. This initial act set up the pattern for the rest of the show, as the comedy was aimed primarily at highlighting common stereotypes and experiences in the dating scene. After the scene was acted out, the two actors went into an extended commentary where the jokes continued to roll, including one particularly funny exchange involving comments about the hardware store. Audience participation was extensive, as the actors often asked direct questions and asked for input involving the scenes that were acted out.

One of the few serious moments of the show came during the second act, as a scene was presented where a young man being accused of rape was being interviewed. The mood in the entire auditorium instantly became somber as the actors presented a complicated scene where the general stereotype of who a rapist is was radically shifted. The point was that a rapist is not always who we think it is and more often than not, no one realizes a rape has occurred until it is far too late.

Despite the somber mood, the commentary after the scene once again became comedic, and the show ended on a light note as the final scene involved possible ways the ride home would go and what conversations might be held. Overall, the show was highly entertaining and educational to all that attended.
