For many sports fans Tuesday nights are not the typical game days that are mentioned throughout the week. However, this was not the case on Oct. 3, as the Men's Soccer team would prepare to take on their division two opponent BYU-Hawaii. The men's team took the field with a record of 6-6-1. The goal of the evening was to get one more win in the winner's column.

Following the presentation of the flag by the Air Force ROTC the two teams would be announced. Each team was set on their respected sides, ready for the referee to blow the whistle to start the game. With a quick blow play began and BYU Hawaii quickly started with their offensive attack. BYU quickly traveled down into Riddle territory each time making a shoot attempt on the goal. However, goalie Austin Parker was there every time letting BYU know it was going to take some real effort to put the ball into his net.

Following Parker's stops, he was able to kick the ball to his other team mate, Samson Aijr, who would pass to number 14, Gincarlo Doro, who then had a break toward the goal. He shot, yet the BYU goalie was there to make the stop. ERAU would then reposition with number 7, Tyler Legg, passing to number 18, Michael Salas, yet BYU was there to make an amazing slide tackling stop which would lead to a corner kick for ERAU.

Despite the corner kick, Riddle was not yet able to capitalize on their opportunity. BYU-Hawaii would then regain control of the ball taking it deep into Eagle territory. Number 25, Steven Blake of BYU, looked for an open player for the pass but instead found an open shot. From 30 feet away Steven would shoot and score a goal on goalie Austin Parker to make the game 1-0 BYU-Hawaii.

As the first half came to an end, ERAU would go into the locker room down 1-0 and take the opportunity to reevaluate their strategy. During halftime, fans stretched their legs and used the newly built restroom facilities before the second half would start. As both teams retook the field, Riddle was looking to tie the game up and then recapture the lead. The second half started and Riddle proved to be on the move offensively. Keeping the ball in BYU-Hawaii territory for 8 minutes, many shots were attempted; however, the BYU goalie was ready for everyone. BYU held posession of the ball and wasted no time scoring again with an amazing shot by number 4, Kai Kamoa. Shortly following the second goal, BYU shot and scored again making the score 3-0.

With BYU leading and time running down, ERAU would quickly pull together to avoid being shut out at home. The first and only goal by ERAU would come from number 11, Felipe Ferreira. Despite their efforts, ERAU walked away with a disappointing loss as the buzzer sounded ending the game. Jason Aspelund had this to say, "Embry-Riddle didn't play their best and BYU was just a better team today."
