With Thanksgiving right around the corner many families will have more than just turkey to think about. For Tina Blake, Jody Morrison, Sabrina Ricks, Liz Frost and Molly Wallace Thanksgiving will push each one of these ladies closer to their due dates.
Currently, all these women are preparing to become mothers either for the first time or for the second time and in Sabrina Ricks' case for the fifth time. Liz Frost and Tina Blake get the joy of sharing another pregnancy with each other while working at ERAU.
Blake who is due on Nov. 29, is not sure if that will actually be the true do date. She has not planned a set date to stop working and is leaving it up to her doctors to determine when she needs to start her leave. She will be having her second daughter who will be named Shelby Boden Blake. Having the middle name of Boden is important to Blake as it is her maiden name and also her father's last name; many people on campus know him as Chief Boden. She plans to observe her full six weeks of maternity leave and will return back to school for the start of the spring semester.
With Blake being a huge part of all the clubs and organizations on campus a concern raised has been what will happen to these organizations in her absence. She had this to say: "What is really nice is that I am going out at a time when there is not so much happening, because of the Christmas time. So basically, I'll be gone at Christmas time and be back by the time students return in January." However, Nancy Jensen will take over Blake's duties for the remainder of the semester. Although she will be out of work for a while, she will still be available to the Greek community to handle any issues that may come up.
Even though the doctors have set a due date of Nov. 29 for Blake, she believes the baby could come anywhere from the 15 through the 20. She will just have to wait it out and see what will be right: her own instincts or that of the doctors. Only time will tell.
