This year's annual OctoberWest festival overtook campus beginning Thursday, Oct. 19.

The events of the weekend began with the Career Expo, in which representatives from various aerospace, intelligence, and other companies came to ERAU in search of upcoming graduates and potential interns. Throughout the day, ERAU alumni were welcomed back to campus and a reception, sponsored by the senior class, was held in their honor during the evening.

Friday, Oct. 20 was University Day, a campus holiday to celebrate all the standard homecoming traditions. The 17th annual Alumni Golf Tournament began in the morning. Teams made up of alumni from the Prescott campus competed and raised money for scholarships awarded by the Athletics Department. The "Last Lecture Series," presented by Mortar Board, featured Dr. Jeffrey Ashworth, a long-time aerospace engineering professor, sharing his words of wisdom to students. In the afternoon, the annual homecoming parade, sponsored by SGA, delighted both students and alumni.

After the parade, the October Festival came next. With food, games, and even a caricature artist, it had something for everyone. During the festival, the Alumni Volleyball tournament pitted the Women's Volleyball team against various alumnae. Later in the evening comedian Tiny Glover entertained the campus in the DLC.

On Saturday, Oct. 21, Admissions held its Open House, which provided an opportunity for potential students to come to the campus and see what ERAU is all about. SGA sponsored a treasure hunt, which had teams rushing across campus to find a monetary prize of $300. In the evening, ERAU Athletics sponsored a tailgate party before hosting an inter squad soccer game. OctoberWest came to an end with Recycled Percussion in the Activity Center. Recycled Percussion created a unique sound with its use of recycled containers and other common materials.
