Congratulations to alumni Bill Dale, Dylan Miller, Ted Sullivan, and Garrett Young, winners of the 17th annual Alumni Golf Tournament. The alumni shot a 61, 11 under par, in the tournament.
The golf tournament raises money for the Champions of Character Scholarship for student athletes.
This year's golf tournament brought in a record 108 participants, grouped into 27 groups of four. The tournament was scheduled to tee off at 8 a.m. but due to a frost display did not get underway until 8:45 a.m. Despite the cold morning, the day proved warm and sunny with no wind, a perfect day for golfing. The tournament lasted until approximately 1 p.m.
Talking Rock Golf Course was the location for this year's Alumni Golf Tournament. Talking Rock is located just past mile marker 14 on Williamson Valley Road northbound. It is a private club that is open to owners of property at Talking Rock.
After the last ball fell into the cup, the participants were treated to a free outdoor barbeque lunch of chicken or steak, Caesar salad, and fresh baked cookies. Each participant was given a free drink of his or her choice from the bar. Though the food was excellent it was in short supply and quickly ran out before all participants could eat.
In addition to the great food there were various golf related raffle prizes, from golf bags to a free round of golf. The raffle was separated into an alumni raffle and an all-around participant raffle.
Participants, alumni and sponsors alike enjoyed the time to relax and shoot a game of golf while catching up with old friends.
