AC1's leaky roof puzzles facilities management

Academic Complex One has had problems with its leaky roof since the finish of its construction in 2005 and Facilities Management has no idea what is causing the leak. After nearly two years of the roof leaking there is no known cause of the leaks. Maintenance has thoroughly examined the roof's membrane and flashing, the thin metal that seals the roof around corners and edges, and has not found a source of the leaks.

The Air Force's aging fleet of bombers, jets, and cargo aircraft are in need of a major budget increase to iwnclude repairs and even replacements after more than six years of war in Iraq and Afghanistan. The F-22 Raptor and the F-35 Lightning II are new jet fighters that are supposed to replace the aging F-15 Eagle and F-16 Fighting Falcon.

A Boeing 747 operated by Virgin Atlantic became the first jumbo jet to fly powered partially on biofuel when it flew from London to Amsterdam on Feb. 24. Partially powered by a combination of coconut oil and an oil from a type of palm tree, the Virgin Boeing 747 set out to make a statement and take a step forward towards a "greener" environment.
